Court Chat with Newcastle’s Reagan Greenroyd – Presented by Rodney Bradford – Farmers Insurance

Reagan Greenroyd is an athlete who proudly represents Newcastle High School.

“My favorite part about representing my school is being true to it through good and bad. Successful season or not, I’m happy where I am and proud to be a part of it,” she exclaims.

Reagan is a junior shooting guard. She enjoys playing this position as it opens opportunities to be a threat.

“I just have to learn to take those opportunities.”

The life lessons learned playing basketball reach beyond the court.

“Learning to deal with change and reaching out of my comfort zone is a major growing pain I’ve gotten to learn.”

By getting out of her comfort zone she has made connections with people she would never have met without the game of basketball.

“My favorite part of being on the team is getting to see friendships go outside the sport. It is another family away from home.” Reagan’s teammate, Bella leaves the biggest impression on her. “She is my point guard. We go way back and have been through a lot together. She’s a beast,” says Reagan.

The best advice she says, is to pray about it and give it to God.

“I’m passionate about my sport because it’s the gift God gave me and that is a tool, I can use to put towards work further than me or anything else, His kingdom.”

Reagan is inspired by Alan Price.

“Alan is one of the most caring people I know. He runs through walls every day for his priorities and opens his heart to constantly become a better version of himself. That fuels me every day to become who I need to be too,” she said.

Many have supported Reagan’s passion for basketball.

“Thank you, Mom and Dad, for the countless hours and money spent on me to pursue this blessing. I also thank all my other family members involved, my coaches past and present, teammates, a big one to coach Cameron Corbin, and God for all the many blessings and opportunities he’s presented me with through this sport.”

Outside of basketball Reagan enjoys family get-togethers, spending time with Alan, and having quality conversations with people. She wants to play basketball in college and is considering earning a degree in a field related to sports medicine.
