Like the offense, the defense will return six starters to the field. Taj Smith (5-10, 240, So.) will shore up the D-line. Michael Jarko (6-1, 190, Sr.) is a team captain, two-year letterman, and returning starter at defensive back and receiver on offense. Kayden Phillips (5-9, 175, Sr.) is another two-year letterman and returning starter at defensive back and receiver. Alex Logan (5-9, 170, Sr.) is an incredibly hard worked who returns to his role as defensive back. A pair of linebackers in Brady Rice (5-8, 180, Jr.) and Shane Lovejoy (5-11, 185, Jr.) will further help this defense accomplish their goals of stopping the run and pressuring opposing QBs. “[We have] a good blend of returning starters and first year starters,” said head coach Jeff Brickman. “Coming off back to back playoff seasons we hope to continue to get better day by day.” Brickman is joined by assistant coaches Judd Wilson, DJ Ward, JT Ketch, Quenton Blue, Ryan Corbin, Ricky Bradford, Josh Heskew, and Zac Hale.
